help!!! my truck is being weird after my carb cleaning

i cleaned the throttle body. put it back together. i went to test drive it and it was acting weird... it doesnt shift when its suposed to, instead it revs really high and higher! untill i just let off the gas and it finally shifts. also it doesnt go into a higher gear (from 4th to 3rd ona hill) unless the rpms get SUPER low, or if i tap the breaks. anyone know what this is?

Throttle Body? Did you use a Cleaner safe for O2 sensors and catalytic converters?

What year truck, what engine? It sounds like a kick down linkage problem or a vacuum line off of the modulator on the trans.

his is electronically controlled. no vacuum modulator or kickdown cable.

did you take the tps off the throttle body? if so did you put it back on properly? plug it back in? kinda sounds like you put it on wrong, or left it unplugged. it is suppose to be set on the tb so that the throttle moves it.

just look at the sensor, if its plugged in then pull it off. or use a voltmeter and see if the signal voltage goes up with throttle movement. if it doesnt change then pull it off and make sure it still looks good. then set it on the tb so that it turns with the throttle.
