Magnaflow Hi Flow - is it needed?

I ordered Roush Off Road kit and wondering if Magnaflow was needed. I found that most of you guys have both.

I really can't understand the need of it if the roush comes in a complete kit.

I'm not pro in this so bare with me

And if its needed for some reason, do I need to order 2 and which one the 2.5 or 3"

Thanks

you dont need anything else for the exhaust. its a complete kit. most people that replace cats with high flows do it for sound/performance.

I understand, I will install the roush kit first and might consider the Magnaflow at a later stage.

I have no experience in the Roush Offroad kit. But I do have a flowmaster super 44, and I must say when I bought my two cats and took out the four stock ones it made it a whole different truck in terms of sound, mpg, and performance. The part number for the two cats is Magnaflow 94106. I got two for $40.00 a piece from performance peddler on ebay through best offer. It doesn't say what year your truck is, but in the 04-05 they have 4 stock cats and in the 06- they have 2. I just replaced my 4 with the two new ones. Hope this helps!

Brent

Thank Brent for the extra info but I'm still confused in something, my truck is 05 and what you are saying is that it has 4 stock cats. The part where I'm confused is when installing the new exhaust (roush off-road) will they fix it to the stock one that I have or it comes with its own cats that should replace the stock ones.

You are buying a "Cat-back" system that will hook up right at a connection point after the exhaust has been brought from two pipes to one under the passenger side of the truck.

If you decide later to replace or eliminate some of the catalysts, that is a separate procedure and the the cat(s) will need to be cut out and new ones welded in.
