I like my K&N. Its legal everywhere, and has great HP gains and excellent reliability.

Are you dead set on one of those ones? If not then I suggest the S&B CAI. One of the best out there for power gains and affordability, plus it's legal everywhere just like a K&N kit. It also looks a lot better in my opinion.

The S&B and AF1 are both NOT legal for California.

They are definitely both good intakes though.

S&B isn't yet. Taken from their website:

CARB Exempt: Pending (exemption stickers sent out upon approval)

Or if he doesn't live in Cali then it won't matter anyways.
