MPG gains

What kind of gains can be had with an intake and exhaust for a F150 Fx4 S. Crew? Looks like right now the my truck is getting 13.5mpg around town driving 'granny' style + it's brand new

save your money for gas.
I when about this the same way you are. got a CAI and edge evolution. pretty much the same mileage. maybe 2 more mpg's on the highway if you set the cruise under 70mph.
I can say the truck is WAY more fun to drive. but the mileage remains the same or even worse in town....

Wish I could get 15 to 16. Guess my right foot is a little heavier than yours. My '07 with 14K, 3.73s is lucky to get 12.5 this winter. May be the colder climate but I don't think you guys have been too warm this winter either.

Must be nice. I can't get above 10 this winter. The winter blend along with the mandated 87 10% ethanol is crap..

LOL!! Stupid 10%. I'm about to start running the E85 again but I can't justify driving 10 miles out of my way to get it. I'm not even sure how much it is anymore. When I tried it last summer, it actually ended up costing me a penny more a mile when I figured it all up. Read an article in the paper today that if we have another drought here in the midwest, corn production will be down causing yet another hike in gas prices. I can't wait!!!

For a lot of us, but I believe that some states don't get the ethanol blend in the 87, unless they get 89 octane.

here in Illinois pretty much any gas station: 87 ethanol free, but the 89 is 10%. I get better mileage with the 87.

footee, I had the same problem. what size tires are you running? come to find out my speedo was calibrated for 255/70/17's and the truck has 265/70/17's on it. I had no idea cause I purchased the truck used.
when I got my edge progammer I figured out that issue and wabam! I was at 14-15mpg vs the 12-13.

I still have the stock wheels and tires on it. I sure as hell hope it is calibrated right since I did built it. Well, my collegues and I at the Kansas City Assembly Plant. Maybe I'm partially mistaken on the ethanol content in the gas here. I was under the impression that all unleaded gas, nation wide, was changed to 10% ethanol as of Jan. 1. I know there is a sign at the Wal-Mart station that states, "may contain up to 10% ethanol." It doesn't specify which octane. Others around here have noticed MPG losses, too, so I thought it had to do with the ethanol. I'll fill up with E85 on the next couple of tanks and see what the outcome is and keep everyone posted on my findings.

I ran two tanks of E85 through my truck in December 2007. I felt that I had a little less power (seat of the pants feel!) and I defiantly got worse mileage. My mpg went from 16.2 to 13.3.
