My buddy had a 00 f150 5.4 with the cats cut off with straight pipe in there and run true dual 2.5in pipes all the way back with glasspacks and 3.5in tips.On my 99 with 5.4 ,I had all my stock cats with 2.5in true duals run all the way out the back with no mufflers and 3.5in tips and when we would run next to each other I couldn't even hear my exhaust over his it was so loud.It was way to loud for me but he loved it.The cops pulled him over all the time so he ended up throwing regular mufflers on there and it was still loud.He also said when he drove the highway that it gave him headaches also.I never had that problem with mine so I would say you wouldn't even need to run headers just cut your cats off and run true duals with some type of mufflers whether it was the dynomax bullets or single chamber flows or single chamber cherry bombs just as long as you run true duals, not some 1into 2 setup if you want it loud.

The loudest you can get would be straight pipes and headers. No cats and no mufflers. Wouldn't be good at all for perfomance and the truck would be a slug with no get up and go.

interesting. i was behind a dodge ram in a drive through once and i could easily tell he had cut his cats, it smelled pretty strong of gas exhaust.

It will smell like an old muscle car... Not that I'd know from experience or anything... But to the OP, run no cats and no muffler. It will sound amazing.

i'm cutting my back to off monday. and just weld a piece of pipe in there place until i get miney to cut a section out and buy mufflers. and see if it will really throw a code or not with the sensors in the back just unhooked cause i can turn that off with my programmer, and get the 10 seies flowmasters, the cherry bomb will be loud to but i know people with em and flowmaster has more of a sound good loud insted of an obnoxious racket loud wich wouldnt bother me but..

SLP loudmouth 1 shotgun resonator, just enough to shape the sound over straight pipes!
