Hey, Gotts. I'm new here, and found your intake mod. I just did it last night, and am very greatful. There is a noticeable difference in throttle response. I have a 2000 Harley Edition with the 5.4. It still has the stock filter, which I plan on adding the drop in K&N. I have a few questions. Even though the ABS pipe is a nice, tight fit, does it have to be sealed into the hole in the fender? I notice the stock piece has a rubber grommet that it fits into. When I first turned it over, idle was a bit uneven, and the shift points were a might erratic. This seemed to go back to normal as I ran the truck. I did unhook the battery for well over half and hour, so I assume this was the computer resetting itself? Also, I noticed a small pinhole in the bottom of the airbox. I was tempted to seal it, but wonder if it's supposed to be there, maybe for condensation drainage? I want to thank you again for this mod. Well worth the time and effort.

Thank you. I did switch the headlights on for a few minutes. Not sure if that was long enough. I ran the truck through it's paces after, and it was running pretty good when I got home. I plan on going after the silencer next, so will unhook the battery and turn the lights on to clear it well. I take it there is no need to seal the pipe into the fender with a rubber grommet? I will definitely check out the HD section and attempt some pics. Thanx for the welcome.

You can attempt to seal it to the fender but I don't think it is necessary because there are a few holes around it. Any hot air that would be flowing back into the fender would be minor.
