I know alot about exhausts since my buddy makes his own for race cars. The down tube on dumped exhausts have to be close for better sound or you will get the popping effect. Dumped exhausts are better due to less travel after the muffler to travel and less bends. When you lower a vehicle w/dumped exhaust, it IS gonna be louder due to the sound waves bouncing off the ground and truck faster than a lifter or stock truck. The loudest muffler, and best in my opinion, is the 1 chamber flowmasters. Less internals for the exhaust to have to get out of the muffler is better flow and better performance
