Help! Direction of Gibson Muffler??

I painted my regular steel pipes with black 1500 degree paint. It held up pretty well. I bet it'd be OK on the aluminized tubing although prolly not needed.

I tested the gibson 3" muffler for flow rates in both directions. I found that the open end of the louvers toward the engine produces as much back pressure as the stock ezhaust. I installed mine in the streamlined direction, back pressure from the cats is close to 10 PSI! I did not gain any measurable increase in accel. And if you search my posts you will see a post titled "low benifits from bolt ons" I know I did not spell benefit correctly in the header for the post, Hope that helps you find it. Anyway the long and short of it is the 4.6L does not respond to bolt ons.
