Tommy T's wife needs a car

I need to get my wife a car to put around in. I almost put this in the general discussion section but then I saw this section( and the lack of the ranger section but I'm not going there ) and my wife needs a car. She wants something to travel in, you know how women are. She wants every kid to have there own seat and all, hell when I came up...me, paw, mee maw, and my 3 bros crampled into a Ford Regular truck with 2 doors, but being the polite man I am went along with the family vehichle...

So we need something for 6 kids, one pregnent woman, and one me. I looked at a explorer, and a Taurus, but I believe they are going to be a bit to small. I dont like the looks of the expedition. Too granny! What do yawll think of the Excursion, what kind of mileage does it get in the city, where we'll be driving it. Write up what ya know.

Tommy T.

Tommy T,
I guess you know that the Excursion has been discontinued, so you gotta buy used.

The city mileage for the Excursion made Donald Trump ride the bus.

Should be easy for you to narrow your choices because counting heads looks like you need an eight-seater.

There ain't that many 8 seaters on the market.
Most all are minivans that get better city miles than a big hunking SUV anyways. Do you really need a big SUV? Just how big are those mall speed bumps up thataway?

If you are concerned about the embarrassment factor of a minivan remember,
you still got your Ranger for stylin.

Im thinking mr tommy t should get mrs tommy t a 1997 ranger and you guys can match. I can see it now. Riding down the road side by side in the rangers, each one with a wendy's baconator in hand.

Find a lightly used excursion with the diesel engine. My dad has one with the V10 and its a gas hog compared to the Diesel version. For a huge suv you would be surprised how nimble it feels while driving and manuveringig.

Gas Excursion in town will get you 8-9 MPG. 7.3 Diesel Ex will get you 15 - 16 in town. Even better on the highway.
