Its my understanding that the current Expy/Navi are on the old F150 platform and will move to the 05 F150 frame when they are redesigned.

It was my understanding the Expy strayed from the F150 platform a few years back in the last major makeover. The expy isn't just a body on an F150 frame anymore! I would say no way would an '05 F150 lift work on an '05 Expy. Go to the dealer and take a peak underneath the both of them.

EDIT: Wait a minute.. this the Excursion forum... J your throwing me off! In any case, the Excursion was never based on an F150, so the answer is still no.

I'm not 100% but my inderstanding that the 03 redesign (Expy and Navi) are on the same basic platform as the previous. Now that platform has been revised (not unlike prev gen Explorers being on a modified Ranger platform).

I'm somewhat inclined to believe this as Ford plans to move these to the new F150 platform in 07. And I just can see another all new platform for these trucks after just 4 or 5 model years.

I could be wrong on some ofthese facts. This is just what I've read here are there.

The frame, forward of the A-pillars on the '03+ Expy and Navigator is similar to the '04+ F150, in that some of the suspension fairings are in the same general area, at least that's what my eyes tell me. The Expygator frame is more steel intensive than the '04+ F150; magnesium is used for the core support in an F150, it's still steel in a Expygator as far as I know. From the A-pillars on back, they're two totally different animals, since the Expygators have provisions for coil or air strut mounting and the independent rear axle, as opposed to the F150's solid axle and leaf spring arrangement.

What in the heck does any of this have to do with an Excursion?
