Excursion Rear Wiper Problem

On my 2001 Excursion, I'm having problems with the rear window's wiper.

When it is turned "on" it sometimes (rarely) works right away, and usually there's a several minute delay before it starts to work. Once it begins to work everything seems OK.

Does the motor (drive) need replacing?

Thanks in advance.

Figured I posted in all the others, so I might as well post here.

I haven't heard of many problems with the rear wiper on an Ex.
