First Year?

Can anyone tell me what was the first year the Excursion was sold?

One of my sons recently bought a '99 but on the Edmund's and NADA websites the earliest model they review is the 2000.

Where did your sons pick up this "99" at and where was the proof. The excursion was a 2000 origin and my only question was it used? Some folks will tell you anything you want to to hear to get you to buy their vehichle. Sometimes not all interirly true.

After I posted the above note my son checked his VIN and discovered it is actually a 2001. He said the previous owner told him it was a '99 but it was a woman who got it in her divorce settlement and she probably just didn't know. And, he didn't really care about the year because it was in like new condition with less than 20,000 miles and she made him a great deal. He needs it to haul around his wife and four kids and to tow his boat. He says it's perfect for that and he loves it.
