Greetings!

The Ford Excursion limited is an awesome SUV especially with the six. Although it can get rough if you do not change your engine belts every 60k miles. The engine needs its oil too. It is not as gas hungry as its sister V10 but it has its moments at the gas station too. I guess that is what you trade, miliege and acceleration for a guzzlin rock hard work vehichle. Right there with ya bud! Ride on, and let me know how things are going over the time period. Anyway how is the 5 litre doing? i luv that engine and was wondering what you thought of it!

I tell ya...I'm pretty impressed with this 5.0L. I did a bunch of work to it and pulls pretty hard, even in this beast with 40's.
I could just imagine what this engine would do in a smaller vehicle ....like a Mustang.

Yeah...

The 5 is a powerful engine and it does get good acceleration for the size of it. Your truck is a 92 Lariant 5 litre 4x4 with what did you say 44s. Pretty good, aeh! What kind of acceleration does it get? Do you use the thing to tow any. I am an earlt nineties buff especially Fords and Chevys. It just intregues me. How many miles yah got on the new Excursion?

It's a 1991 Lariat and I'm running 40" Super Swamper Boggers.
I haven't taken it to the track since I installed my new torque converter (OLD T/Q 2200 RPM stall)
The new one is a B&M Holeshot 3000 RPM stall.
But anyway....my best time is :

R/T .905
60' 2.589
330 7.299
1/8 11.224
MPH 62.13
1000 14.683
1/4 17.705
MPH 74

Awesome...

That truck really hauls you know what. Even witht the big 40s that thing can fly. I love your choice of torque converters and the 1991s really respond moreso than the 04s to acceleration being lighter. When do you plan to race the 91 again? Let me know how it goes... How is the Excursion fairing. Anything serious happening or not. You love the 6.0L Powerstroke don't you. The thing really has seroius power for towing and hauling and even better running without a load. Here is a tip that i like. Go mud sliding after it rains. You do that one time you will want to do it every day. Get out and let the ponies run. Excursion is a fun SUV and when it gets home give it a good scrubbin. Beleive me it is real fun.
