Recirculating air

I have a 5.4 Excursion XLT with a manual A/C. Can anyone tell me how to set the heater/AC to recirculating warm air, so that when I'm driving at 0 degrees behind a stinky diesel, I can shut out those fumes?

Thanks for your help.

Max AC with the heater selector all the way to the right..

That should do it for you!!

Hope this answers your question..

Tried that setting and all it does is blow cold air. It works like that on the AC setting but it doesn't recirculate the air that way. Do you think the system is not properly?

Disregard..

Looked an saw that it was manual, sorry@!@

Does the heat work at all?

I have used the setting that you desire driving My Explorer Sport.

Sounds like something isn't working properly..

I don't know where my mind is today..

So, what I BELIEVE is happening is that the blend door will not stay in the full heat during MAX AC.
Maybe they are made that way, but it still sounds fishy.
I will do some investigating into this issue and compare another Truck to what you are describing.. I'll post when I make the comparison..

I have the same truck, and if "manual" AC means you manually adjust it, not electronically set, then we have the same thing. It SHOULD produce heat in the AC setting if you have the dial in the red. If not, there IS something wrong. I have found that if I want the AC or Heat to work even quicker that using the REAR AC/HEAT at the same time makes it get cold/warm quicker. Good luck.

We have the same thing as we have the same truck I guess. Does the A/C produce heat when the dial is set to MAX AC and the temperature selector dial set in red on the dashboard? Does it blow heat that way out of the front registers?

Thanks for your reply! I need it to fight my dealer to fix it if it is not working correctly.

Yes, MAX AC does produce HEAT when the dial is in the red out of all open registers. Same thing for the rear vents.
