Quick help needed

I pulled into work.....shut the truck off.....came in .....got my stuff....went back out to the truck........wont start.....turns over fine........like its not getting fuel! What could of happened? 97 f150 4x4 4.6L. I just got the truck a week ago had been running fine till now. I checked the fuel pump fuse and it was ok......same with the fuel shut off switch.........Im stuck!
EDIT: I just talked to the guy I bought it from.......he said it has done this once before........he waited 15 minutes and it started up again. I have been trying for 2 hours with no luck. All the shops are closed until Monday and it is my only vehicle.

Spark, gas, and air are all you need. Check for fire to the plugs when cranking, try pushing in on the fuel rail schrader valve to see if there is pressure. Check fuel injector fuse (may be different from the fuel pump fuse). Check fuse to PCM and any others that could relate to the engine control.

Just my input - hope you get it going. Be sure to let everyone here know what you found (it might save one of us one day).

Good luck!

Then does it go out while spinning over?

Well, I got it running. I brought gas up just in case....put that in.....and it started.....went and filled up......only 16 gallons so I know it wasnt out of gas. Vapor lock? I need to get it in and have them put the computer on it and check it out I guess. I need to buy a chiltons to become familiar with this truck. I plan on doing a lot of things to it, but not until Aug 2nd......thats when I close on my house and will have some cash. Superchip.......exhaust........air raid...........tonneau cover and might have to do tires.......but I should be sitting pretty good then! Thanks for your help!!!

we replied at the same time, if it does it again, remember to see if the light is on with key just in the run position, and it should go out when it spins over.

The light coming on means that the computer is powering up.

The light turning off while spinning means the computer sees a crankshaft speed signal.

Those are the 2 first steps in diagnosing a no-start.

Thanks jefflaws ......I think I should take the truck in and have them hook it up to the computer. I dont know the truck at all, is this a good start to make sure everything is working? What else should I do to get a "fresh start"? I am going to get the tranny power flushed, I have already changed the oil and filter. I will put on new michelins before winter. I plan on putting a superchip and air raid intake with a different exhaust. I should get it running right first, correct? Or do I put the superchip in and see what happens?
