tachometer install help!!

hey guys,

sorry about posting this here, i just want to get this install knocked out tonight and figured responses would be quicker. i have a autometer tach and on the instruction sheet it says this:

"IMPORTANT
warranty will be void if connected to coil on MSD capacitive ignition"

this is under the section that is for installing it on ignitions that provide a tach termial.

my questions are : 1) i have no tach to begin with, so do i have a tach terminal
2) when it says void warranty, does it mean the warranty on the gauge. or does it mean the warranty of my truck??

thanks for you help guys.

A

look at the post that i recomened i just went there and printed it off I have to do the same mod on mine.
under, v6 engines, then goto 2nd page, then look for 2000 tach install. this guy really did his home work and he spells it out step by step. Ill keep watching to see if you find it. When you do if you have a printer just click on print and print out the post very helpfull when out in the garage.

Hope this helps

Hi LBC 150

Try www.autometer.com

They can answer your question... There maybe another part that goes with that tach?

It was posted awhile back...i believe the guy said he put tach on a 99...but was very involved with finding wires etc..If you can find that post...its really good... I recall some confusion with what the rep. at Autometer said...and what this guy actually did to get tach to work...because of the ign. change Ford made starting with the 99 models. Meaning before 99..not complicated.

Try...search...if its working...maybe you can find that post. Of course you may get an update here, soon?

Good luck...OT
