engine noise

I got new f-150 lightning and after 3k I noticed tapping noise after start up. It goes away after engine gets warm. It is more loud after oil change. Anybody with the same problem?

I don't have that "problem" (my engine was built in Romeo), but I believe you'll find out that others do. I think the search function has been restored, so you can search up old posts. That "tapping" could be described as "slapping" or actually "slap", for search purposes. I think there is also a Lightning forum here...

Good luck.

The tapping didn't just happen to start shortly after an oil change did it? If so, try a different filter. Could be a bad or cheap filter with inadequate anti-drain back valve.

I agree with Tiger on this one, This has happened to me two
times already. Before most recent change i had tapping when
first started and would quit after several seconds of running
so i changed the oil and filter and this time it has not made a
sound.
Same oil- Mobil 1 with Motorcraft 820s filter
same amount each time 6qts.
