Done some searching, but could'nt find my exact engine code: 2G842AA. I know its a 4.6, but looking at what else i can learn from the code......PI heads, cast iron block, etc. Any one out there got any ideas?

 

Being a '02 you do have PI heads.

 

It will say "PI" on the casting itself

You have them as torkum has said..

 

thanks all. the reason i asked, is that i belive the engine in my truck got replaced, i bought the truck used with 100,000 miles on it and a couple of things in the engine compartment seemed amiss. also, looking for where to find "PI" stamped on the heads

 

Post some pics of what you think might be different. One wat to tell if you have a reman engine is to look on the freeze plugs, they put a tab on the freeze plug that will change color if the engine ever overheats.

 

Is that what he wants to know ? Whether he has a reman or not ?
