gas mileage indicator

does anyone notice that in the gas mileage indicator and number of gallons use gauge, that these indicators are off my around 8 percent. they show me that my gas mileage is better than it actually is, and when i fill up i put more gas in than it says i use, i've checked this 50 times, always the same results.

I'm on the other side. My 14 HD F150 said I used 34 gallons last tank. I stuffed it and when I was refilling it and attempting to stuff again I was a gallon shy. Most times from a quarter it takes 25 gallons.....not accurate by any means.

I've never owned a vehicle that calculates MPG accurately. The method of "fill it up", reset your tripmeter, and then divide the miles by gallons used to refill at the next fillup is the most accurate method. Most of my vehicles tend to "lie" on the higher mpg side by 1-3mpg.

The "miles left till empty" etc is almost never accurate.
