2004 F-150 Temp Dash guage stopped working

2004 F-150 5.4

Temperature gage on the dashboard quit working a few weeks ago. Is it a sensor I can replace or should I be taking this to the mechanic?

I believe the sensor is mounted on the front of the radiator support...I think its on the vertical support bar below the main latch...If that's the one, its an easy change...
