Intermittent problems with dome/map lights

Sometimes they work when you open the door or hit the fob, sometimes they don't. Now today, the front won't work no matter what you do, including clicking for map light. The doesn't work with door open, but will if you turn it to the permanent on position.

Help!

No one?! I had them going today with the doors and fob just by chance. Now nothing; no cargo or interior domes. All new bulbs. I have tried fuses. What relay to check? 2006 f150 lariat.

I know you have probably identified your truck in other threads, but you need to do that in this thread too.

The dome light will stay on if you turn the wheel for the instrument panel all the way to the brightest setting and it clicks. Just turn it back till it clicks and the dome light will turn off

That doesn't work either. Now, once the truck has been running for a bit, everything works as its supposed to. Once I stop and power down it goes back to not working. Just discovered that the rear window has no power until the dome map lights are able to be powered up. The entire time however I can click the maps on no matter what. Sounds like a computer issue to me.

I had a similar problem where my dome lights weren't working either. Mine seemed to be connected to having water down by the wires on the passenger side floorboards. Once that was drained and dry everything worked as normal.

Both sides of mine appear to be and have always been water free. Guess next step is to pull door sills off and check
