1998 blinker blinks fast- doesn't illuminate

Hi I recently bought a 4.2 5spd and every so often when I turn left I can hear the turn signal blinking fast (like a light is burned out) but the green arrow on the dash does not light up. I'll try and make it do it again but it'll light up and blink just like normal. It only blinks fast and doesn't illuminate about half the time. All of my lights seem to be okay. Only happens with the left side. Is it the multifunction switch? Any help is appreciated

MFS is going out.

Check the connector at the MFS of loose, pushed, damaged, or corroded pins before condemning the switch.

Quick test, change the tilt on the steering wheel.

Other members have had the issue that projectSHO89 posted about, where the MFS connector pull apart.

Some times raising the steering wheel all the way up will remove the pressure on the MFS connector and they will work correctly.

You will still need to remove the anti submarine / knee panel and check the wiring.

This is what one member did to sure the connector pulling apart.

1 is the connector tab.
2 are the pins pulling out of the connector shell.
