Which power inverter for corded drill? (If possible)

Hello all, I was wondering if I could use a power inverter that I could plug into a cigarette outlet to use a corded drill( 10 amps and a max wattage of 980) and if it would even be possible. Thanks!

anything over 200w is going to have to have dedicated battery cables

So would I be able to connect the inverter to the car battery that is already on there and have it work or would I have to have a whole other battery?

You can use yer current battery. Just ensure that you keep it charged - that's a significant load.

BTW - don't see this being audio-related - perhaps ask a Mod to move yer thread to Electrical?

Current rating

That 10 amps is at 120V AC. To get that out of your battery you are drawing approximately 10 times that much current...100amps at 12V plus inverter losses. Those current requirements mean 4 gauge welding wire at a minimum. Electric motors are inductive which means the input current when you first start drilling can be quite a bit higher as well.
