mileage

I have a 1999 F150 4x4 5.4 what controls the mileage the dash cluster or the pcm?

The accumulated mileage is stored in the memory inside the cluster. The cluster gets its data from the PCM which gets it from the VSS.

So if I replace the cluster it will have the mileage from the other truck?

oh forgot is there a way too turn off the daytime running lights?

Are you asking because the odometer display is not working? This is one of the old soldering issues with the board. It can be and has been (by hundreds) fixed very easily.

No the face of the cluster is bubbled up

Cool. There are lots available in local auto salvage yards. I would guess that is true everywhere.

Wasn't 1999 the first year of PATS? If so, there's going to be dealer programming required for a replacement cluster. It won't start if you just slap the cluster in.

GLC,
I thought this worked fine as long as you transfer the existing HEC to the new cluster. Is that not true? Otherwise, a dealer can re-program can't they?
