The two things that come to mind.

1. Incorrect PATS bypass module for the vehicle
- I would not expect this, but worth verifying that it is the correct one.

2. Not existing programming mode on the PATS bypass.

From the installation manual that I have on the OEM Ford ( CodeAlarm )

Securilock (PATS) Interface Programming and Remote Start Operation Test
(two programmed PATS ignition keys are required for this step)
NOTE: This step does not apply to Econoline, SuperDuty Pick-ups and Escort
A. Sitting in the driver seat, be prepared to press the brake pedal to shut down the remote starter system.
B. Using the first key, turn the ignition on, wait for the THEFT light to turn off, then turn the ignition off and remove key from the ignition switch.
C. Using the second key, turn the ignition on, wait for the THEFT light to turn off, then turn the ignition off and remove key from the ignition switch.
D. Activate the remote start function using the PowerCode remote control transmitter.
The system should flash the parking lights and chirp the horn one time, pause for four seconds then start then start the engine.
E. After the engine is started. Press the brake pedal to shutdown the engine.
The Securilock interface is now programmed. If the theft light begins flashing rapidly and/or the engine does not crank or cranks but will not start, refer to the troubleshooting information below.
F. Open the hood.
G. Sitting in driver’s seat, be prepared to press the brake pedal, activate the start function.
The system should chirp the horn two (2) times and abort the start sequence.
H. Close the hood.
I. Place ignition key in the ignition cylinder.
J. Again, Sitting in driver’s seat, be prepared to press the brake pedal and activate a start sequence.
The system should chirp the horn one (1) time pause four seconds, then chirp the horn two (2) times and abort the start sequence.

Replaced the PATS bypass module and it works again.

I've driven the truck less this year than ever before. Still have not attempted a fix, however yesterday I drove it and played around with the remote start.

I tried to start it, same deal, everything works but does not start engine.

I was inside with the engine running already, held the button on the remote and it went into keyless mode, I removed the key and it kept running. I pushed the brake and it stalled as it should.

I tried to remote start it after this and the horn chirped 3 times. I suspect a bad ground wire, or the wire that is around the ignition and goes to the remote start brain box.

According to SteveVFX4's post here about the troubleshooting with honk #s,
( https://www.f150online.com/forums/el...ml#post5052948 ) 3 honks would be a door ajar issue. So I could only suspect a wire in the door wireloom to have been broken. Otherwise, the truck attempts to start with the single chirp, the engine just does not crank.

More on that soon.

I recently have been daily driving my truck due to DD issues. I ended up needing to put a battery in it. I put in a 850 CCA Interstate. Ever since, the truck has started by the remote start no problems. A friend of mine suspects a bad connection/ground to the starter and the freezing weather keeping it in place. I'm 50/50 on a ground, or the ignition ring being bad. But it has been working. Perhaps the old weak battery had too low of voltage and the truck refused to crank via remote start?
