Optima Red Top for Truck...

Okay hear we out before you respond...

I am installing the Wrangler Dual Battery kit for my F150. It is sized to fit both the Odyssey PC1200 and the Optima Group 34 battery. I was all tee'd up to buy the Odyssey but then I found my local shop has the Optima 34 on close-out for $120 each.

Should I do it? I know the general consensus is that they aren't worth the premium but at $120 per battery that is cheaper than anything else out there I looked at... The closet competitor is the Sears Gold AGM for $150.00.

What should I do? Are they really as bad as people make them out to be?

I've had my Redtop for the last 3 years with no issues. From -45* to 85*. What's the warranty like?

They told me it is the factory warranty of 36 months full replacement and that I can bring it to them if there are any problems...

I've had a red top in mine for the past four and a half years, since it sits weeks at a time I keep a Battery Tender on it but I have had no issues. For that price I think you should be ok.

I'd pay the extra for the Sears.

don't think you can go wrong either way you goooooo!!!! For the price i'd go with red tops. Or if you don't mind the extra 30 dollars go with the sears, like GLC said.

Never ever had an issue out of a Red Top. Only battery I've bought in past 20 years.
