The other night, I ran up to the store. When I arrived home, I turned off the truck and proceeded to go into the house. Before entering the house, I looked back towards the truck and the parking lights were on. All of the switches in the truck are turned off. Disconnectehd the battery and of course they went off.

However, upon reconnecting the battery, and testing to see if the problem can be dublicated.... it did. Once the headlights are turned on, the parking lights go on. When the headlights are turned off, the parking lights remain on.

Please help. I seriously don't feel like disconnecting my battery every time I have to use my headlights.

 

Is the truck equipped with the autolamps feature?

 

No, it doesn't have the autolamp feature. Fuse 18 was blown, but even after switching it out with a new one, the issue still persists. On a positive note (I guess) I can still drive in the day time. LOL, but crying inside.

 

Well, it appears to have been a diode. (Not sure which one, the guys are playing with it). Looks like a trip to the parts store in the morning and hopefully a fix to the issue. They also located a wiring issue in the tow harness, which also contributed to the issue... it was raining the day the issue started.
