fog light relay

Correct Relay
Thanks again Sscully! Great info. I am going to try to jumper out the fogs this weekend. I had the fog light wires at the bumper, 15a fuse under the hood, the correct relay, and the 5a fuse inside the truck. I figured it was all there, but I guess not.
I guess I only have one question and it may be a trick one. Is this the right relay for a 1997 Ford F150 foglights? I want to make sure I jumper the right one. I circled the one in red that I believe is the right one from your description.

Oh yeah, figured out how to display an image too.

- That relay panel is not documented the best in the owners manual.

Correct Relay
Thanks Sscully, that is the correct relay on my truck! I jumpered it and they came on. I have to run the white/black wires inside the truck as they are missing, but the white/black wire is there from the firewall on the engine side.

Well, got this done finally. Sscully had the right relay. The bottom comes off the aux relay box and it unmounts from the main so I could get to the wires below the relays. Anyhow, I had to run the yellow and the white/black wires from the switch to the aux relay box to get this to work. Also a white/black wire from the 5a cab fuse box to the switch. All of these were on the diagram, but I just didn't realize they were all missing on the cab side harness. Its too hard to tie into the firewall bundle in my opinion. I didn't want to pull those connectors as it would affect everything on the truck.
The yellow wire was missing too. I was able to go to the auto parts store and get a connector with a square electrical pin very close to the ones on the switch connector cause the yellow wire had to go into the 6 pin plug. I think this part might give most folks too much trouble. The pin didnt stay in the slot like an OEM, but I just tie wrapped the yellow wire to the others in the plug, an old trick to retain a pin that won't stay in the plug.
This was all on the drawing including the yellow wire. It looked like not so much looking at that, but its another wire to run.
The OEM fit lights, switch, etc cost a lot and a lot of work to run the wires. The light housing install with rusty bolts and all was pretty rough. I had to pull off the crosswise bumper brace on the driver side. The rusted retainer/nut things took a couple of hours at a fun angle to get off. Lucky they sell exact replacements at the auto store for 6mm and 8mm.
I would probably not have done this if i knew how much work it was. After market lights could go in on those black blank offs and I think that would be easier. Still have to run wires, but running the wires, a new relay, aftermarket lights would have been cheaper and quicker.
Thanks for all the good info posted here. I would not have been able to do the install without all the info posted here. The fog lights are definitely a blast of light! I am getting some more potent bulbs anyhow.

Yellow Wire
Here is a photo I highjacked from another post. It was helpful to see which pin the yellow wire goes to. I think this is Fairlaner's photo, so thanks to him.

I checked PD fuse #9, 15a and it was good. I checked all of the other fuses in the PD box - they were good as well. I came across this thread as I was searching for the answer again - 4 years later and I still have no fog lights.
