Seat Belt alarm

Hey, my seat belt alarm keeps randomly going off, even with my seat belt on. Does anyone know how to just turn it off or disconnect it?

Look in your owners manual. Mine had instructions on how to do it.

Not to imply something, but are you sure it is the seatbelt warning chime ?

When it goes off, is the red seatbelt indicator in the cluster also flashing ?

When you turn the key from off to run ( not start ), does the airbag light come on ?

The only reason I ask, is the warning chime that is 5 beeps by 5, and repeat is an indication that the airbag light is out, and there is an issue.

no the airbag is fine, and yes the red seat belt light flashes when it does it.

well its quit weird actually, on the 2006 model you turn everything off and then turn the truck on but not cranked. Then you wait till the seat belt light turns off ( bout a min). then within 60 sec. you have to buckle and unbuckle the belt 9 times, ending unbuckled. after this the airbag light will come one and then you have 10 sec. to buckle and unbuckle again. after that it id turned off, to turn it back on you repeat the process. lol. it is very strange but it is in your owners manual under the seating and restraints section. Me and my buddy did to his mustang also, but the process was slightly different but not much.

wow. talk about a code just to turn off an alarm. haha. i tried it on my 04 and it looks like it worked. the air bag light flashed after i did it. havent got to drive it yet and try it out but i think it worked. so does that turn it off for the driver and passenger side? or do you have to do it on the passenger side too?

You can also just go to the dealer and ask for 2 seat belt extenders and place them into the seatbelt lock that will also shut off the chime all the time. btw dealers provide them for free for whatever model of vehicle you own from ford
