No it is not there and I was mad that they made a relay so hard to access.

On mine it was above the gas pedal right behind the trim panel that covers the whole lower half of the steering wheel the panel was about 1ftX2ft and wrapped around the side and terminated at the door pillar. I had to remove the bolts holding the brake release and the hood release. Then I had to remove the socket holding the relay to a metal bracket so I could cut the tape that was wrapped around the cover. As soon as the cover was off there were two relays in the box one was too small to be the one. In all honesty I had to guess the location based on the clicking of the flasher. Once I figured out how to remove the whole thing I had no issues with replacement and reinstallation.

flasher location on 1999 f-250

3 of the 4 turn signals work...I replaced the bulb on the one not working and still only 3 work ...bulb and socket seem to be good...anyone have any ideas?
I was going to replace the flasher but it's probably not that since some are working...can't find it anyway...the dealer said it was in the fuse block...doesn't seem to be there anyway...

thanks

ok so i got a 2001 f150 supercrew and my turn signals do not work. however, the hazards DO. also, i can get the turn signal to light only if the brake is applied and that i hold the blinker lever in a awkward wierd position. living in houston without blinkers is nearly impossible. any suggestions? start off with gettin a new relay?

I would look at the relay. My turn signals worked till the relay heated up or what ever was causing it and then the signal would stay on solid, hazards always worked longer than the turn but same thing happened just lasted a longer time. The relay is a 10 or 15 dollar part and as long as you can contort your body into a pretzel it’s not hard to do.

Thill has not been online here since : 02-09-2010 12:37 AM.

You have the same symptoms ( hazards work, but turn signals do not ) ?

If so you can try cycling the hazard switch, to see if it cleans the contacts in the MFS, but expect to pull the MFS and test it.

I have the same problem as him, I can apply the brake and push the signal 1/4 of the way down and get the signals to come on but they don't blink unless I move the lever more. I have already replaced the MFS, relay, and all bulbs.

So your hazards don't work ?

If you have do not have the brake lamps on, will they flash ?

Not like it should matter, but have you put the tilt all the way up ?

Hazards work with or without the brake lamps perfectly. Turn signal requires the brakes to be pressed. My tilt is around 3/4 up.

the MFS switch connectors are bad about breaking the "lock" that holds the wire in place if you turn the signal on then with lever down adjust the tilt it should start working in the full up position. That was how we tested them when I worked at a dealership.

Thanks guys. My inspection sticker was due, and I was worrying that I wasn't going to pass. Tried some of the suggestions, and discovered that mine was the emergency flasher switch. Pushing the button a couple of times brought the directional signals back. Next time I have some free moments, I plan on squirting out the switch with some contact cleaner.

Appreciate the help.

Rog
