Airbag code 42

Hi all I have an airbag code 42 on a 1998 F150. From what I have read here and elsewhere it would appear that something is wrong with the LH impact sensor, but I can not find this sensor. Can anyone help me find it? I have looked all over the LH side of the truck and around the radiator and can not fine it. I even have a 97 f150 with the engine and radiator out of the truck and can't fine it in that as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Close, 1998 LFC 42 is the LH airbag sensor, not an impact sensor.

Not sure which thread for a 1998 you got impact sensor, the 1998 did not have the variable inflation rate airbags, they just deployed at full force.
This means any deceleration from over 23.5 mph the go off at full rate ( all gyro and VSS input activated ).

The 2004+ MY the LFC 42 is for the front impact sensor, which is on the front radiator support by the external temp probe, but the '04 + MY F-150 SRS is much different, that is why the two do not use the same LFC tables.
