If I upgrade to a fog bumper????

and I want to use the Ford switch with the fog pull instead of my non fog XLT one, will I need a new wiring harness or is the wiring I need there and not hooked up?

Have to make a decision today so any help is appreciated

2006 and older MY trucks, the reported configurations are mixed.

Some have the fog lamp wiring from the bumper to the fog lamp relay in the CJB ( aka Central Junction box, cab fuse panel, pass side kick panel ), but the wiring from the CJB to the main headlamp switch is not installed.

The fog lamp wiring would be either taped against the harness or mounted with plastic panel mount wiring loom holder by the headlamps.
The passenger side on my '06, the fog lamp harness is in the same harness as the horns.

Start with locating the fog lamp bulb connector, it should be a 9140/9145 bulb connector ( shown below ).

Some have reported they do not have the fog lamp bulb connectors installed.

If you can locate this, install the fog lamp fuse, and remove the fog lamp relay ( if installed ) and jumper the Normally open contacts in the fog lamp relay ( shown as the red line the drawing below ).

This is what a lot of members have reported as working.
The missing part is the fog lamp switch to the CJB wiring, this is the White w/ Black stripe wire. You might find it is working, but it would be from terminal #2 in the fog lamp relay, to the main headlamp switch connector ( where the wiring harness plugs directly into the back of the headlamp switch.

If you have continuity from C2150A, pin #9 ( white w/ black stripe ) to the fog lamp relay socket, pin #2, then you should be good to go, after completing the test above.

If you would rather, you can purchase the bulb connectors & a relay, and use the factory switch to turn on and off the fog lamps you installed.

Autozone ( or similar ) might have the 9140/9145/H10 bulb connector in a KYO ( similar ) "harness upgrade" that you can use to make the bulb connector end of the harness ( these are really just male - female extensions )

Cut the ends off to make the bulb end of the harness, and wire to a relay.

Using this diagram as the basis, the setup is the same ( soldering the bulb connector ends to wire, connect to the relay etc ), but instead of using the pin #85 to the lamp options, this would be installed into the main headlamp, pin #9.

This would make the factory switch control your relay ( and fuses to the battery ) to make the fog lamp operational.

My truck didn't come with factory fogs. The harness from the fuse box wasn't there but the wire from the headlamp switch to the relay was. I purchased from the dealer the correct headlamp switch and tapped into the foglamp trigger wire in the switch harness and ran that one to an aftermarket relay and made my own harness to the driving lights. I purchased a Ford wiring diagram book for my 2007 F150 off of Ebay and it has a wealth of knowledge in it.
