desperate for advice

i'm having a strange issue with me 02 Screw, 5.4 V-8. i've read other threads and some have had similar issues w/o as many bugs as mine.

my problem i think is caused by the ignition switch (well thats what i've been told from buddies of mine at work...none of them ford guys by the way). so i looked on here to find one but haven't came across one that was close enough.

on to problem.

When i remove the key out of the ignition the whole truck still stays on (except engine). Radio, lights, A/C, all my lights on my panel. (service engine soon light, oil, ABS, the whole deal).

i've tried disconnecting the battery for a couple mins to reset itself but its only a quick fix. this has happened before but only for a day then just went away on its own. if anyone has any advice it'll be greatly appreciated. Again i'm sorry for bringing this up again but you guys really seem to know whats going on with the fords.

If it happened when it was dry, then I would not suspect the GEM.

You can take the ignition switch apart, and see if the factory grease is filled with stuff ?

Here is a thread on pulling the tumbler out of the housing, so you can get a look in there

Stopping beep beep

I am not expecting much to be in there, but it is worth a try. This is really a ~ 10 min job to do, and it is as easy as they sound.

well i took it out and cleaned some gunk off of it and tried it again and it just did it again i cant charge me battery because as soon as it gets enough build up everything kicks back on and drains it down again

well i checked some other thread and people were sayin it might be corrosion on the 'red part of the corrosion wire' as they put it but i didnt find any. another part of the thread mentioned 'the orange/light green wire is somehow shorting against something metal under the dash'. any thoughts on that. i'm not even sure what that wire is or goes to so didnt want to tear into anything if you didnt think it would matter.

If you got the gin switch cleaned out, Next step I would think is the Battery Saver Relay.

This is controlled by the GEM, and provides power to quite a few things.

I am going under the SWAG that it is sticking ??

This is in the CJB ( aka Central Junction Box, cab fuse panel ).

You can use ( if installed ) the Trailer Tow reversing relay in the BJB ( aka Battery Junction Box, Engine Compartment fuse panel ).

Both are full size ISO relays. If you do not have the tow package installed, you can get one at an Autoparts store, but I would rather you not haphazardly purchase parts until we confirm it.

so i replaced my ignition switch and it fixed most the problem such as A/C and radio but i still have the service engine soon light and the oil light on after key is out. this morning it worked perfect but i'm afraid it'll start up again. 'm really not looking forward to buyin a new GEM for it because i dont know of anything else that may be causing this problem
