Brake Lights Stuck On - 1997 F150

I am hoping someone can help me with this issue. I have a 1997 F150 that as of Friday, the brake lights are stuck on. I have pulled the lighting fuses under the dash and they stay on. I disconnected the brake switch at the pedal and it stays on still. The only thing I can do to get them to go off is by disconnecting the battery. The other thing is that if I have the key in the off position and turn a turn signal, then that light will go off. I.E. I flip the left turn signal and the left brake light goes out completely.

I have turned off the headlights completely - they stay on. All of this has been done with the fuses pulled. Very confused here.

If it matters, my emergency brake and my ABS lights have been on for several months all the time. I figured this is the rear speed sensor issue but have not gotten around to replacing it yet.

Any ideas? Is there another fuse somewhere? A stuck relay by chance? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you have any additional modifications does to the truck.

Seems as if the brake lights are spliced to another circuit, if you pull the fuse for them and they are still illuminated.

Try pulling your turn signal and hazzard warning lights flashers. One of them may be fused.

Thanks for the responses. Problem solved, although not really sure what the problem was. I got the idea that maybe it was my brake controller box for the trailer. Went out this morning and reconnected the battery, hit the braking button for the controller box, brake lights lit up each time - leading me to believe it was actually the running lights on as opposed to the brake lights - then they went out. Seem to be working fine now, but obviously there is something going on that may recur, so I'll keep a heads up. Thanks again.
