Location of AirBag Module- RCM
#4
Still cant find it.
I took the right kick panel off, and see a bunch of wire harness's/plugs. But I do not no see the module at all... There is a thin metal case way up there, but its too thin, and looks nothing like the replacement module.
I also looked behind the glove box, by pulling the glove box fully down, and see nothing. If I follow the wires from the passenger side air bag, it appears to be going left into the instrument panel.
Anyone have a service manual for the 2001 F-150? I get mine in a few days, but im bored and want to do it now
Thanks,
Scott

Was on the wrong computer last time, this one has the 01 CD online.
The 01 RCM is behind the lower center instrument panel finish panel.
The service procedure contains specific steps which must be followed to ensure your personal safety. I'd recommend you wait until you have the procedure in hand before attempting.

Steve,
Thank you for looking it up. I think your right, I will wait a couple extra days until I get my CD.
I think the main thing is to have the battery disconnected for a period of time prior to hooking up any of the connections, so no electricty, or static would discharge the bags again.
Thanks for your time.
