Good Deal in So Cal

Got a good deal on my new F-150 XLT from Phil Molitor, the Fleet Manager at Raceway Ford in Riverside, CA. (See the General Discussion Forum: My New Truck!) A friend who works for Ford recommended Phil—they leased a truck from him---and he couldn’t have been nicer. Another customer I talked to at the dealer’s said Phil traveled some distance to this person’s office to take care of some purchase-related paperwork---stuff above and beyond the call of duty, as far as I can tell. Anyhow, because of my friend at Ford, I had the X-plan to help me out, but I still was treated great, didn’t have to talk to anyone but Phil (no arm-twisting from Finance Dept or anyone else;~)), and found just the truck I was hoping for. I spent way more years than I should driving a piece of junk, just because my last car-buying experience was SO awful that I would have walked across broken glass to avoid talking to another dealer. Fortunately, this time I wound up with Phil at Raceway, and paid (if I’m reading the Edmunds.com figures right) something close to $900 below invoice…. and got a $500 rebate in combo with an awesome APR (new incentive).
