Thumbs down Good Service Depts and needles in Hay stacks

What's up with these Ford Service Departments ? I've only been dealing with Ford for about 2 1/2 years now but quite frankly most of the dealer service departments are attrocious !

In the past dealing with Jeep/Chevrolet/Nissan I have never experienced the "inability to fix" that I have noticed with Ford. If anything with these other Motor companies, they were FINDING things to fix but at least, more often then not, they were able to fix the truck or give me a rational explanation of cause...very very frustrating

I had the same good experience with Dodge, and Chevy, the only problem was that the shop had my Chevy almost as much as I did and rarely for the same thing twice. The Ford dealerships just don't seem to get it that "having a good product will not always keep the customer coming back"(consumer reports a 1994 issue). I have been unable to get the level of service from any of 4 different Ford dealers that I received from all of the different Dodge dealers. Thank goodness the Ford's products require less shop time than Chevy and Dodge or I would be driving one of them.

Thumbs up

I have found a Ford dealer in Athens, AL - Dan Watchel Ford- that identified my problem by just talking about it. They were great. I have 97 that had gear/spline problems. They ordered the right part of the yolk assembly and BINGO, problem solved! Granted they are hard to find, but they are out there.

Well I hope my dealers service dept is as good as the sales dept.
On my last truck I never had to take it back to the dealer for anything.
1992 Nissan pickup.
Bought it new and had a 60,000 mile standard warranty that I never needed.
Drove it 106,000 miles and never did anything but regular maintence to it.
I hope Ford F150 is as good.
