First off I have been a long time member and use to have a 01 f150. Since September of 2013 I sold my pride and joy because of joining the military and also purchased a jeep for the wife. I'm back in the market for a newer used f-150 looking at years from 08-12. I want 4x4 with a v8 and super can. Would greatly appreciate any input on issues on these models if any. Thanks a lot guy iv been out of the f-150 crowd for awhile and never really got into the newer trucks but I want one now. So any advice is good thanks again

 

You could always check Carcomplaints.com to see some reported issues by year. Currently on my 08 F150 5.4l with 60k miles my driver side window has issues going and down but I think there's a simple fix for that. Always be aware of the spark plug removal issue too.

 

I think the spark plug issue went away in 2009, but I don't know for sure. I did check on a 2009 for a friend and his didn't have the problem.

 

Spark plugs breaking during removal ended mid 2008 models. The revised heads have brown COP boots instead of black.
