Sub Forum idea...

I have noticed that there is no real section to post pictures. I know we have the galleries but that is more of just a place to upload your pics. It would give a distinct home where people could post pics of the new lift they got, their new rims, the new tips they put on, the new truck they bought, etc

I'm going to play devil's advocate here so, don't bite back at me... just thinking out loud.

What's the difference in someone uploading that new picture of their lift to their free f150online.com picture gallery and then spinning a new thread in their respective forum (be it Suspension or 2004+)?

Again, not trying to be a jack-off with that question -- plus, it's not up to me to start a subforum (that falls on the webmaster -- or, who I like to call 'HAMLET').

Devils advocate here also. I like seeing who has what. Just a pic gallery IMO is not as personal...

Another reason why I thought of this is because I have put about $3500 into my truck since Feb., in the aftermarket and its a little bit of everything and wouldn't fit into just one section. (my big tires, dual exhaust, lots of chrome, tool box, stereo etc.) It would also give others a chance to comment on it, ask questions etc.

Also when someone goes on a trip to the beach, or the mountains, or grandma's house for thanks giving and they snapped off a few pictures of their trucks they have a place to share them

Here's my unsolicited thoughts - the management is providing a real nice service to us by offering the free galleries. This makes it real easy for the members who have minimal computer skills to post pictures, period. It's a lot better than the alternatives (Photobucket, etc.). However, now I'm going to play @$$hole. This makes it real easy for people to post inline images out of the gallery of virtually unlimited size. Do you know what happens? The way the forum software works, the ENTIRE PAGE in the thread gets stretched horizontally out to the width of the monster size pic. I have to constantly scroll back and forth just to read what people are typing - and this is VERY annoying. I find this a LOT here, and I don't exactly have a low resolution screen (1280x1024). It's a good thing I have DSL, or some of these threads would take 15 minutes to load due to the huge file sizes that large pics are. I would like to see some way to limit the size of pics to something like 800x600 at the most. I think it's asking too much of some members who are essentially computer illiterate to be able to resize their pics out of their cameras before uploading - they are challenged enough just offloading the camera and uploading the pics to begin with.

In the computer forum that I admin, we strictly enforce a 640x480 size limit for inline pics and strongly encourage links instead of inlines. We also allow uploading of attachments, something they don't allow here.

I agree with you 100%. I'm not suggesting get rid of it by any means, what I am suggesting is make a section dedicated to pictures where people can show off their trucks as a whole.
