Clean up the ads!

This is getting ridiculous. Steve did a great job of keeping the banner ads relevant to trucks. Now we get zango crap and other spammer ads. Is this a sign of the sites future direction?

What is Zango? We have not changed anything about the ads since IB bought the site. We are still using Google's AdSense for our default ads (we do not control the sites that advertise on here through them) and all the ads we have sold directly are truck related.

My work PC is not showing those ads (except "The Comebacks" movie one) so my home PC may be infected with something. I will check it tonight.
Thanks.

The Comebacks ad is definitely being served through AdSense...a lot of the studios target enthusiasts sites to promote their films and shows. (there was also a South Park ad recently) I have definitely not seen the Jessica Simpson and half naked or spam-type ads here, which is why I suspect there is an issue on your PC.

I believe that Zango can only be dl by agreeing to it's terms and conditions. Meaning someone on your cpu pry dl it. BTW Zango is primarily used for looking at adult sites/pictures I've come to know. I've had to deal with this many a time here at work. Go into your control panel, add/remove, and remove anything that says "zango" or anything that is pop-up or advertising related.

Zango is notorious for allowing multiple pop-ups, some that can crash your cpu if left alone. GL and there isn't anything wrong with this site.

Zango is not loaded (at least not by me and I do not think my daughter did it). I am getting ads for Zango vid sites and video games. I am not home yet but will scan my PC tonight and let you know what I found incase it helps someone else.

Yeah it'd help to do a full computer scan - being that it'll take a while maybe leave it run overnight and when you wake in the morning check to see if there is maybe a virus or something. I wasn't trying to insinuate you or your daughter did dl it or look at adult content, just that's pretty much the only way I've heard of this problem (and others).

For assurance, make sure to check your control panel and maybe even your start-up menu for anything suspiscous (sp?!?)

Spybot found one called AdRevolver . That was the most likely candidate. All is well now thanks. There were a few other cookies that it found as well.
Sorry I jumped to conclusions. I guess I need to monitor my daughters traffic patterns and see where they came from.
