Exclamation Suggestion for 2004-2006 F150 forum:

Due to the popularity and amount of posts on a daily basis in this forum (2004-2006 F150), who would be in favor of distiguishing the topics discussed in this forum a little? Maybe add sub-forums specific to tires/wheels, performance mods, etc.?

I'm just a regular member here (no admin), so I'm just suggesting this. It just seems that this forum gets flooded with threads daily. I feel that when someone creates a thread, it gets buried so fast that most people never have a chance to see them and are therefore not able to offer help or suggestions.

Who agrees and would be in favor of detailed topics under the 2004-2006 F150 forum?

Sounds like a good idea, but there are already plenty of detailed topics, just not specific to the 2004-2006. I think another set of detailed topics would just make things more confusing.

I agree 100%

I often times scroll back a few pages and re-read thread titles just to make sure I didnt miss anything.. and I always do.

Good Idea!

I too agree, I don't visit any other forum besides this (04-06 F150) one and I know 90% of these guys are like me.

The only forum I ever visit is this one - tons of information and easy to search if need to.

I like to scan under the "New Posts" section. It makes it easier for me to check several forums at once, but I do get a lot of posts that are in areas that I am not interested in too.

I always thought there were a lot of topics regarding the 2004-2006 that should fall under a different category, but got posted here because you had a chance to reach a larger audience and a quicker, better answer. I think if you make subgroups under this one you would end up with a similar problem.

Perhaps a search option that would let you check the new posts since your last visit but specify which forum you want to search under. Example...check new posts since last visit under 2004-2006, Audio, and Chips?

Just my .02

Dave

This is a terrible idea. More sub categories is redundant and will just lead to less discussion overall.

Technically, that's what those other forums are there for. The year specific forums just sort of become a catch-all.

Happens on all the bulletin boards I subscribe to. The general forums wind up with tons of posts that may or may not be better suited on one of the already existing topic forums.

As it is, I think there are already too many redundant sections on the forums. When I first became a member, I was confused by the two exhaust, wheels, and suspension forums under OEM and Aftermarket sections. Rather than add, I would almost suggest condensing...

Although there are a lot of different subjects going on in the 2004-06 forums, I like being able to browse them all at the same time.

BTW, this forum seems to be the best, most responsive for F150s on the net!

Thanks for having it up!

I agree with you dave. I just go to the new posts seems to be the fastest way to go.

Thanks for the suggestion.... I'm going to move this topic to the proper location where it may be viewed by those who are above me... this is beyond my decision making power.

Anyone not using the "New Posts" method of reading the board really needs to try it.

I read all the BB's I frequent this way.

Once you try it, you'll never go back.

No problem. I'm not trying to cause trouble or make waves, but it does seem like some sort of forum reorganization may be something to consider.

Look in the 2004-2006 F150 forum alone and count how many threads have been created about tires and wheels alone in the last week; these aren't general tire wheel posts either, they're all posts specific to the 2004-2006 F150's and that's why they're in that thread. Technically if you go by the main forum page these posts should be in the Wheels and Tires forum.

It seems that either all the "incorrect" tire and wheel posts need to be moved to the Tire and Wheel thread, or maybe the idea of adding specific sub-forums for each year/make/model vehicle would work well.

Tires and wheels is just an example; suspension lifts, lowering kits, performance mods, etc. are all just as redundant.
