Which tuner works best?

So I bought a 2005 STX 4.6L about a year ago and I'd like to increase my hp/tq as well as my fuel economy. So far I have a true dual straight pipe exhaust, k&n air intake system and a dual electric fan in place of the pulley fan. I've been looking into getting a programmer but I'm not sure which one would work best. I know people that have used SCT, bully dog and edge performance programmers and were all pretty successful. Any ideas what would work best with my truck?

How can you get custom tunes from SCT? I know these are some pretty basic questions but I don't have a lot of experience or knowledge with tunes

You don't get custom tunes direct from SCT, you get them from the tuning house that you buy the device from.

I've got a SCT Bamma on my 08 screw 4.6 LX and I'm running a SuperChips on my 05 screw XLT 4.6. Both have stock tunes in them, haven't gotten any custome tunes yet. Both have improved my gas mileage. I believe that the SCT has helped my mileage the most of the two. I can get 17.8 in city and up to 22or so on the highway. All based on me keeping my foot out of it.

I'm just using the canned tunes that came with each tuner. I got both of mine used from Craigslist. The SCT can only be used on 5 vehicles before it has to be reunlocked for 100$. The SuperChips one can be moved from vehicle-to-vehicle as long as it not being used on any vehicle.

Nothings changed

Search button still **** eh?

No wonder this board is dead.

No offense to the original poster but seriously, it's like an epidemic.

Probably 50+ hours of reading to be had on tuning your 4.6.
