its a resistor in a box.
it tricks the computer into thinkning you have cold air intake when you dont.
theyre a waste of money IMO. i bought a similar product then came on here and asked about it.
take my advice and spend the 20-30 bucks elsewhere.
edit-$70 bucks..

the chip is whats inside the plastic casing. computer chips dont really need to be very big at all and it only has to run a simple program for the trucks engine. by comparison, a hand-held nintendo game cartridge holds more. for comparison here is a 1 GB flashdrive, vastly more than the memory required for the program on the chip and it is only a couple inches long. the reason the performance chip is in the larger case is because it would be extremely hard to manipulate it; and where else would they put their logo?

yeah, a resistor... except it is made of silicon. and in all my years i dont think i have seen a flat, rectangular, silicon resistor, they tend to be cylindrical, round, and NOT silicon

Then please explain how you are to get the tune in the PCM when the Edge/Gryphon and the XCal 3 or any other tuner all plug into the OBDII port under the dash and I didnt see a cord coming out of that thing. It is a gimmick and nothing more if you are going to spend your money on something go spend it with PHP, Troyer, or VMP because if it worked we would all be running it.
