93k miles and programmers, chips, etc

I've been thinking about getting a programmer for my 04 lariat, leaning towards the edge products. But I wonder if the mileage on my truck could be an issue. I'm wanting better shifting and getting rid of that cursed throttle response delay. Anyone have an opinion.
Thanks

If your truck has been properly maintained, no reason not to get a tuner. Edge and SCT are great choices.

The Edge will solve your problem, but I highly recommend the Gryphon with custom tunes. Much better shifting and downshifting. Yes, a custom tuned Xcal3 would do nicely as well. I have 96,000 on my truck and about 65,000 of them are with the Edge and then the Gryphon tune.

I bought the truck from a dealer used with 75k miles on it and I don't know how well it was maintained at that time. I've just had it tuned up and I'm having some trouble with a p351 code since the tune up. I'm not planning on doing anything to it until I get any and all codes clear.
Also it's had a knocking cam phaser ever since I bought it but I've been assured that's a fairly common issue and not performance affecting. I do plan and correcting that problem soon also.

If you would rather not go the tuner route, though I see no reason not to, the dealer can do a reflash of the PCM that eliminates the hesitation and improves shifting some. I had it done before I bought the tuner.

I bought my Expd with 111000 miles, brought it home, had it tuned up and put the first gen Edge from my F150 on it. No issues. After last service, old Edge would no longer work, sent back to Edge with 150 bucks. New Edge Evo now in place at 129000. Significant improvement. On tow tune appears to have picked about 1 mpg, around town. Still too early to tell for sure, only 1 tank. May eventually send to PHP, and upgrade to a Gryphon, have to get the job situation fixxed first.
