You hook the Gryphon to your computer with a cable and Bill provides a "key" that allows you to download from the email.

you will download a program called Pegasus and that will read your gryphon when its hooked up through a usb cable and you just hit a button once your tunes are ready and everything will load into you unit then just reload your programmer into your truck and feel the power.

OH ok...well you know. Based on your help it seems like I could just keep the canned ones except the tranny only. Trade that one for custom 87 performance. I do tow a 23' boat and misc. other things from time to time like building materials and such..but the canned tow tune has got to be better than nothing so...that should be fine...the F-150 tows great bone stock anyway

Well there is another wrinkle I didn't realize mattered. I have the K&N FIPK intake and the Flowmaster 50 series. So maybe I should get the custom tunes you are waiting on..that should work good for me. Which canned tune are you leaving Antz??

Alright...thanks for all the help guys. I believe that I know exactly what I want now when it comes time to order. How long do they normally take to get the programmer to you once you order??

So it comes canned with a 93 octane per? But you can pay extra and have a 87 octane performance tune? is this correct?

Whats the difference besides the octane? I do not at this time have any performance mods such as exhuast or cai.

It is totally different. What is the difference in a one size fits all shirt and a finely tailored one? The custom tune gets a little more power and much better shifting and downshifting. I ran the Level 3, with 93 octane for 30,000 miles. Got custom 87 Perf and custom 93 Perf tunes and have about 31,000 miles on the 87 Perf. I seldom use the 93 Perf, just don't feel the need.

I talked to Corey and Bill last Tuesday and had my new Gryphon on Friday.I asked the same question and was told that a gryphon with no tunes is an edge as far as the tunes go BUT think of it as a cracked edge..like a cracked or jail broked I-phone...meaning the program is cracked and can now except the upgraded tunes..and its black which looks nice. Both list for 399.00 but if you ever want to upgrade the edge you have to pay to get it cracked first..then buy the custom tune of your choice..so why not buy it cracked right from the start.ALSO..right now they have a sale going on which translates to 1 FREE custom tune.I personally choose the 87 octane performance tune to replace the Trans only canned tune. And it will take into account my tire size, air intake and driving habits. But until I get it my Gryphon is basicly an edge running on the canned tunes....which by the way kick ass.
My 2 cents worth.....
