Edge Feature Questions

I just picked up an used Evo. It's version 3.13.14. I notice that I can't adjust shift firmness or spark advance with it. It's on a 2006 5.4L. Is this something that anybody else has ran into or should I talk to Edge? Everything else seems to be working just fine with it.

Those are two things you SHOULD be able to adjust. Are they not showing up, or do they just not do anything when you try yo adjust them?

I don't know if that's the latest firmware or not. You might try downloading "Fusion" from Edge's website to check for firmware upgrades. Like Bluejay, though, I think you SHOULD be able to adjust those parameters.

Your unit is a model EEF2400 or E3.XX.XX, right?

Hi Jack,

I have the menu options available but it says that it's not available for this vehicle. Go into programming>level 2>custom yes>shift firmness or timing and I get "This option is not available on this vehicle." I'm going to see if I can upgrade the firmware and fix the issue. If not I'll have to talk to Edge.

It's almost GOT to be the firmware! I suspect the user you bought the unit from had it on a 2004 or 2005 truck and never updated the firmware.

I KNOW you can adjust firmness and timing in a 2006!

this happend to me as well but in a different way, i needed to send my PCM to whipple so i bought an identical PCM from a wrecker, hooked up the IDS(ford scan tool) and did a PMI (swaps info and also updated PCM to latest Ford calibration) then swapped PCMs. Well now that my PCM had the latest calibration from Ford I now needed to update my edge in order for it to work, no big deal. So i updated the edge and was then able to tune the truck, but cant adjust shift firmness aswell, never tried spark advance as im running level 3 on 91oct. Any ideas? I was able to do this before updating the PCM and the Edge.

I have the firmware v24 and calibration v30 which are the latest according to Lightning. For some reason it's telling me in fusion that my hardware isn't supported. I wonder if it's related to the vehicle being E85 capable or something.

I think BOTH of you guys should call Edge Tech Support. I bet there's something very simple they can suggest that will allow you to adjust those settings.
