What would be best for my 05..

2005 4x4 with 3.73 and 5.4l 3 valve, Already have roush off road, gotts mod with k/n filter.

Whats the best for an 05 (I ask because I'm nervous over the lean condition 04-05)

Exhaust, intake, gryphon.

exhaust, gotts mod, gryphon.

exhaust, stock intake, gryphon.

Am I best with customs tunes for any/all of this if I do it. I've read quite a bit on hear, but still looking for the best anwser to my specific worry.. lean condition blues, lol..
Thanks for any help, I'm totally new to tuning..

Personally, I think either of the last two is fine. You'll save a lot by not buying an intake. And, you won't have any danger of running "lean". I don't really know what kind of exhaust mods you have in mind though. If you get long tube headers, you'll definitely want custom tunes.

If you get custom tunes, that eliminates the risk of running lean. I had the same concerns. I ran the Edge tunes with a SIDO out exhaust and a K&N dropin for a long time, then got the Gryphon custom tunes and later modified the intake(Gotts type). Keep in mind, that unless you have custom tunes, you are really not taking advantage of any aftermarket intake. Personally, I feel the minimal gains from an aftermarket intake is just not worth the dollars spent. About the best thing going for them is that they look real neat.

No I'm sorry should have specified, I just mean the roush cat-back thats all. I agree on the intake too, nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks that way, lol!

Yea they definitely do. Big plus i think. Gryphon is the only one I'd even consider buying after reading all the excellent reviews..

Sounds like your truck and mine are equal on mods then, lol! I dont care for the air intakes either, I'm glad to see others have the same gotts and k/n mod I do with a tuner.
Thanks for the help guys sounds like I can keep my truck the way it is and just add a tuner.

I guess the only other thing I need to ask is, if I have just the gotts mod and k/n and just the roush off road, should I get a custom tune or no??

Yeah... I would. Get a performance, economy, or towing based off of what you do. Get a tune that reflects how you drive. I drive for economy, so I plan on an 87 economy tune

I loved the canned tunes, I thought. I finally got the custom tines and they are even better. Go for it, you won't regret it. I had to use the level 3 canned tune, 93 octane, for 30,000 miles. I have run the 87 performance for 33,000 miles. It paid for itself in 6 months.
