It will add about 25 to 30 hp and greatly improve shifting and downshifting. Plus, it comes with a monitor you can mount on the dash and track 22 or so different itms, 4 at a time. Temps, voltage, etc. I would not be without one. had mine for over 3 years.

Yes, they are the same hardware. You can convert for $30 and then each custom tune is $65
Did you read the sticky thread in the Chips and Tuners section?

Yeah there isnt anything about Gryphon or PHP on there. I know who Superchips, Diablo and Edge are... But I cant go down to 4 Wheel Parts and pick up a Gryphon. Thats where my questions come in. Do I send my Edge in? Is it downloadable?

You send you Edge in to PHP. They reskin it and load your custom tunes in at that time and send it back to you.

Or, if you do not have a tuner yet, you just order the Gryphon from PHP. It comes with canned tunes and after you decide what you want to achive, you can order custom tunes. Those will come by email from PHP.

Which is exactly what I should have done. Now I have to set the truck back to stock and ship it to the them and wait patiently. Where as if I had ordered directly form them I could just leave the gryphon in my truck and run canned tunes, which are funner than stock, until I got my customs tunes in. You live you learn.

Actually, it's currently $25 to upgrade an Evolution to a Gryphon, $60 for each custom tune, and about $10 to $15 for shipping each way to and from PHP. They have a forum on their website (powerhungryperformance.com) specifically for upgrading. I suggest you browse around their site if you still have questions.

Oh come on! Be reasonable! At least 90% of us and probably more (at a guess) think the Gryphon and custom tunes are absolutely worth it! You'll find the same opinions from those running custom tunes on the X3 from Troyer or VMP.

What do you want - a guarantee? I'll give you one, and it will be worth exactly what you pay me for it! You'll love it! There, guaranteed!

You take a chance here. Most all of us who have done so are glad we did. I would not willingly give up my Gryphon with it's custom tunes. Neither would the guys who have tunes from Troyer or VMP.

If you don't want to take the chance, don't do it! Buy your Wife some jewelry or something. THAT, would be a "sure thing"!
