If your cheap, don't bother buying a programmer. You'll end up disappointed and come back wondering why your cheap programmer is garbage.

Is a good one not around $400 anyways? I'd save the extra for the difference in power gains etc.

Sounds like you are going the cheap route all the way around. Getting rid of the CEL isn't going to make it perform any better or make it stay off. Put your O2's back on and get a set of custom tunes.

Exactly. Not to mention running the risk of playing with fire and damaging your motor or transmission. Going cheap on this isn't exactly the smartest thing to do. Spend the $400 and get a custom tuned Xcal3 from a vendor like VMP Tuning.

or find a buddy with a ford car or truck and go half n half on a sniper like me n my buddy did. 400 bucks for a programmer and you can tune 2 cars or trucks right off the bat.

or do like the others have said save up another 100 bucks and get SCT 3 custom tunes. SCT's on fords is the sweet.

What year is your truck? You might be able to find some used ones that people would sell as they trade.
