Tuner Help

I've been reading the threads posted here in the tuners section and i still have questions, I read that the Gryphon is "semi-custom tuned" and that the X-CalV3 is fully custom. What is the difference there? I like the gryphon becuase of the dash mount which looks like it could be useful.

Next, what are some "custom tunes not listed on the order forms, I don't want to miss out on the "Animal style triple decker" thats hidden from the menu

I want to get power mostly, I figured i would go with the performance, towing, and gas mileage tunes just to be well rounded for all scenarios
So should i start running 91 octane and utilize the better tune? or is the 87 tune just fine

Lastly, how do I figure out my gear ratio? I believe it is stock(2nd owner now) I'm running 33" tires no lift.

No both the Gryphon and Xcal3 are custom tuned. The only difference is who tunes them and the fact that Gryphon has a display. Honestly, I really don't see the advantage of having the display other than for the tech factor. It's some what useful but I like being stealthy. I'd recommend VMP Tuning and get the highest octane available in your area performance tune and towing tune. It's worth it in the long run to run premium octane. It's going to give you more power and an increase in gas mileage. The gear ratio should be on an axle tag on the rear differential. Get out the creeper!

Get the axle code off the drivers door. We can determine the ratio from that.

The Gryphon has the monitor and I love mine. I keep up with engine temp, tranny temp and voltage. Would feel lost after 3 years with the monitor.

The Gryphon comes with 3 canned tunes and you can order custom tunes to fit your needs. The Xcal3 is similar except for no gauges.
